UNDISCOVERED BENEFITS OF BEING QUARANTINED

The nation is completely locked down and I am home quarantined for a month. No office and not much work. So I wake up late, pass my day thinking what to do and end up doing nothing, watch movies or series till late night and sleep with no hope of waking up early.

And repeat the same routine again.

And again.

Then one day, a few thoughts jumped into my mind.

Why do I feel empty and clueless without office?

Is my life limited to my work?

Is earning money the only objective of my life?

At this age, bounded with so many responsibilities and career ambitions, I would never get so much time away from the rat race of life, from the same old routine of running behind money and handling my responsibilities.

This is my best chance to go back to my journey and re-visit the lost moments.

God has given me the opportunity to repair, reconstruct, revive and restore things which knowingly or unknowingly got neglected or left untouched.

So I started listing down the things, things which I always desired but could not stay determined to them, things which I left abruptly, and things which I had to sacrifice.

  1. TIME TO RE-LIVE YOUR PASSION

Everyone has a passion, may it be writing, reading, playing guitar, painting, dancing, singing, it could be anything which is different from his/her respective careers and the same is dumped deep in the corner of their heart due to the dominance of their career.

Time could not be better to revive that passion.

So take out your diary and start penning down your thoughts,

Rescue your Guitar from the spider’s web and touch your soul through the chords,

Clear the dust from the Novel of your favorite Author and start inhaling his precious words,

Take a pencil and a paper and start painting your feelings.

You may not be good as you wish to be. But trust me, it will give you satisfaction, not from outside but from within.

  1. GO BACK TO YOUR JOURNEY

Time has changed so much that, friends without whom we could not stay for a day, we could not speak for years.

Open your phone’s contact list and call each one of them, go back to the old pages of your life and recall all the beautiful memories which have been dumped deep in your heart.

  1. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR LIFE PARTNER

It’s quite strange but, eventually, we fail to find time for the person with whom once we used to speak for hours, lied to parents to meet her, cared for her like no one does, and loved her like anything.

This is the time. Sit with her, spend time with her talking about life, listen to her thoughts, her expectations, and her struggles.

Help her in the household works, cook and treat her for a change.

Make her feel important because she is.

  1. RE-OPEN THE BOX OF MEMORIES

Open the unnoticed & untouched drawer in your wardrobe. Take out the scrap books, photos, greeting cards, gifts, personal diary, and all other mementoes of enduring memories.

Go down the memory lane and live each and every moment. Again!

  1. SIT WITH YOUR PARENTS

We all, some or the other way, have concluded that our parents will never understand our way of looking at life, our dreams and our definition of happiness and peace. But same is not the case. For making them understand our universe, we must get into theirs.

Have a nice and profound Chai pe Charcha with them. Discuss the struggles they went through, share your un-revealed secrets, ask for advice, give your opinion and so on.

Conclude their definition of happiness and make them understand yours.

  1. LET YOUR WEALTH RELAX, DEDICATE SOME TIME FOR HEALTH

‘You cannot enjoy wealth if you are not in good health’

As there is no excuse of busy schedule and work load now, it’s time to dedicate some time for health.

Fit body automatically generates self-confidence and spread the positive aura.

  1. COMMUNICATE WITH YOURSELF

And the most important of all, spend some time with yourself.

Analyze your thoughts, evaluate your habits, and scrutinize your decisions.

Start meditation, or may be yoga.

Sense your own existence.

Feel blissful for being alive and happy.

 

To conclude, 

utilize this time to the fullest.  

This time is a blessing in disguise.

Perhaps, a golden opportunity to visit buried facets of life.

Stay Home! Stay Safe!! Enjoy Quarantine!!!
