As we know, COVID-19 and the lockdown it brought along have changed the dynamics of everything in the world. It has affected everyone in some form or the other. Amidst all this chaos, there is that strata of the society who has been fighting not against the virus, but against the situations for basics and essentials. And fortunately for humanity, there is also that sector of the society, which has come forward to help those who need it the most. Jana Madhyam Foundation founded by Shirish Gajanan Apte is one of them.
This team in Pune has been working relentlessly since the beginning of the outbreak of this pandemic. They started off instantly by providing essentials like food and water to those who had no access to it. The next set of beneficiaries have been the daily wage earners.
Another essential in today’s times are MASKS. Understanding the importance of masks, they have provided masks to over 200 public workers of Pune Municipal Corporation. These workers have been working non stop through the lockdown and hence, this organisation also took responsibility of serving them NUTRITIOUS WHOLESOME BREAKFAST everyday since the lockdown has started. In addition, they have also provided food and masks to the slums of SNDT AROGYA KOTHI, LAW COLLEGE ROAD and HIRWAI AROGYA KOTHI, PRABHAT ROAD. Not only this, but Mr. Apte and his team have been a great support to the POLICEMEN of Pune. Jana Madhya Foundation has been providing MEALS for over 50 POLICEMEN and staff members of the Deccan Gymkhana Police Station everyday for the past 3 weeks. Keeping in mind social distancing and proper sanitization, Mr. Apte and his team are also distributing GROCERIES and MEDICINES for SENIOR CITIZENS at their DOORSTEP in the area of Deccan Gymkhana, Prabhat Road and Bhandarkar Road.
Jana Madhyam Foundation is working everyday and is fulfilling the most important needs of the underprivileged and the needy. Their exceptional efforts and contribution to the society are admirable. We are grateful for such humans who have been selflessly coming out and helping people in need.
