It’s the thought that counts!! Well, it holds true in every aspect. So today was a usual day at school, Coffee.. Class.. Kids.. Sums up my day in entirety.
The last hour of school, I’d a class with my naughty yet adorable second graders. Today’s a cloudy day in Tehuacán, and hence I wasn’t in my best of spirits. ( Cloudy dull weather bums me out) One of my second graders; Valentina came up to me, wrapped her small soft arms around me and said in the sweetest voice ” What happened teacher Manali? ”
I bent down to her and said “I just feel upset, I don’t like the gloomy weather ! “, she looked at me for a few moments, probably trying to understand what I had just told her. She smiled at me, and said sit. I was wondering what was going on. As I sat, she removed a little green crystal, the magical green crystal that she carried everyday everywhere with her. She believed the crystal was magical and it could make everyone happy.
She touched my cheeks, handed over the crystal to me and said ” Take this teacher Manali, this make you happy. you smile. ” I could’t believe what just happened. She had just given me her favorite magical crystal, to make me happy. I almost had tears in my eyes at the beautiful gesture she just showed.
The others looked at me in awe. Someone told me what a weird gift it was. To others, it was just a crystal. Only those who knew Vale (As we all call her), knew the value of the crystal, which was priceless. I was touched that she believed that I was worth being given her magical crystal. She gave it up, her favorite magical crystal, to put a smile on my face. I’ve never seen a love more purer and unconditional than this.
