“When it comes to giving, some people stop at nothing.”

Vern McLellan

The COVID 19 pandemic has undoubtly caused a massive disruption and chaos in everyone’s lives worldwide. The silver lining to which has been the humongous cohesion among the people of this great nation. CREDAI has been one such example to lead from the front.

Established in 1999, The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India, is the apex body for private real estate developers in India, representing over 20,000 developers through 21 states and 220 city chapters across the country. CREDAI has always supported the nation in times of unforeseen crises. To name a few- Apartments were donated to the families of nine CRPF personnel martyred in terror attack at Pulwama to recognize their contribution and sacrifices. Aid was provided to the Kerala flood victims and many other social initiatives have been undertaken regularly and this is a testimony to the fact that CREDAI stands committed to the larger causes affecting the society and nation as a whole.

Standing in solidarity with the nation in the fight against COVID 19 pandemic, CREDAI has donated generously, amounting to a huge amount, towards the various relief measures across the country with an aim to support central and state governments endeavor to manage the crisis.

They have taken utmost care of their employees, be it the construction workers or any other segment of the allied workforce. Members have been requested to extend all support to the WORKERS and follow the chain of supplies in terms of provision of RATION, MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND TEMPORARY SHELTERS. Additionally, DOCTORS are being deployed by a few members to keep a tab on the health of the workers, besides arranging makeshift ISOLATION AREAS, in case of any emergency. In an effort to upgrade the public health system in Pune, an ultramodern Intensive Care Unit, has been constructed, post an appeal by Shekhar Gaikwad, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Commission. CREDAI helped set up the advanced ICU in a record time of only 8 days. Similarly, 1000 flats were allotted in Gujarat, Delhi- NCR and other cities for QUARANTINE FACILITIES.

CREDAI has ensured the provision of essential food items and temporary shelter to the LABOURERS and their families stranded on the construction sites. Many members of CREDAI are even running DAILY KITCHENS in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Some of the state chapters are running MEDICAL MOBILE VANS across various construction sites with doctors on board to provide on spot medical consultation through SCREENING and other medical facilities.

With Government’s announcement to resume construction activities in non hotspot areas, CREDAI is working closely with its developer members to take precautionary measures at the sites by encouraging proper provision of THERMAL SCANNING, BRIEFING of the staff on health & hygiene practices and SANITIZATION of construction material amidst following social distancing.

In these times of universal calamity where people are losing their lives and livelihoods every second, CREDAI as an industry association is trying to do whatever it can to support the human race in fighting this war. Team Kalamwali salutes each and every member of this establishment who has magnanimously contributed towards helping the needy in these trying times with their all round support.
