Most popular being gajar ka halwa, badam halwa, moong daal halwa to name a few, North India's favourite Atte ki pinni, Gujarat special Adadiya Pak, and the delicious Mawa goond ke ladoo. Albiet all these are special treats and can't be had everyday -  one for the health conscious souls would would start feeling guilty and second for the preparation time.

So, here's a healthy treat which will satisfy your sweet tooth and won't overload the calorie meter.

Ingredients :

1 cup - Rolled Oats

1/4 cup - Almonds

1/4 cup - Pistachios

1/4 cup - Dessicated coconut

1/4 cup - White sesame seeds

1/4 cup - Melon seeds (optional)

1/2 cup - Peanuts

1 cup - Jaggery powder / chopped jaggery plus little more if required

1/3 to 1/2 cup - Metled and warm ghee

Preparation :

Separately dry roast on low flame - the oats, almonds, pistachios, sesame seeds, melon seeds, peanuts and dessicated coconut.

In a blender, powder the oats. Take a big mixing bowl. Remove the powdered oats. Then in the blender add the almonds, pistachios, sesame seed, coconut, melon seed and peanuts. Blitz to a coarse powder.

Add this mixture to the oats powder and give it a good mix.

Now in the blender add this mixture, jaggery powder and give it a blitz, keep adding the melted ghee small portion at a time.  After few minutes the mixture will start coming together. Don't over blend.

The dry fruits leave natural oils. Also, with ghee and jaggery, the binding becomes easy.

Now make small ladoos and store in a glass jar. A tempting, yummy & healthy sweet is ready. Kids & elders will surely gobble up them in a jiffy ! Best consumed at breakfast or as a mid snack during the day.

Cheers !
